Marking the occasion of International Yoga Day, MEADOW Foundation organised a one-hour webinar on the theme, “Yoga for Modern Life: Reconnecting with Health, Balance, and Yourself,” bringing together educators, wellness enthusiasts and participants to reflect on yoga’s role in navigating the pressures of contemporary life.
Delivering the keynote address, renowned yoga and wellness coach and therapist Karishma Bisht said that yoga should be understood not simply as a form of physical exercise, but as a disciplined and holistic practice that helps people cultivate health, emotional strength, mental clarity and self-awareness.
“In a world shaped by constant movement, digital distractions and growing stress, yoga offers an opportunity to return to oneself,” Ms. Bisht said. She encouraged participants to include mindful breathing, movement, meditation and small wellness routines in their daily lives.
A certified yoga and wellness teacher, Ms. Bisht works in the areas of mindfulness, emotional well-being and healthier lifestyle practices. Her approach combines yogic principles with practical guidance, encouraging individuals to develop consistency, resilience and a more balanced relationship with their physical and mental health.
The programme commenced with Saraswati Vandana, followed by a welcome address and introduction by Vikram Singh Bijarnia, CEO, MEADOW Foundation. Mr. Bijarnia said that International Yoga Day serves as an important reminder that wellness should be viewed as a collective responsibility as well as a personal commitment.
The webinar was attended by distinguished academicians and participants, including Dr Amit Sangwan, Director of Public Relations, Chaudhary Devi Lal University; Jivani Devi, Principal, KVM College, Rohtak; and Prof Shipra Dua of Jagannath University, Delhi.
The keynote address was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, where participants discussed stress management, mindfulness, emotional health and the practical integration of yoga into everyday routines. Ms. Bisht encouraged participants to begin with simple, regular practices and to approach yoga as a lifelong journey rather than a short-term goal.
Vikram Singh Bijarnia delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the keynote speaker, distinguished guests, participants and the organising team for their valuable contribution to the programme.
Special appreciation was extended to the technical team Mr Aryaveer Sangwan and Dr Deepak Arora, Assistant Professor, Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University for their significant role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the webinar.
MEADOW Foundation stated that it will continue to organise awareness-oriented initiatives that encourage wellness, sustainable lifestyles and meaningful community engagement.
